ADVANCING GIRAFFE WELFARE; IN SITU & EX-SITU
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s International Center for the Care and Conservation of Giraffe is partnering with The ABQ Bio Park to bring you an exciting, informative 4.5-day giraffe conference that is focused on advancing welfare for our long-necked friends, both in-situ and ex-situ.
We are officially accepting abstract submissions for both oral presentations and posters. The giraffe care and conservation community is eager to learn about your recent work, insights, and field updates. We invite proposals exploring experiences and innovations in training, hoof care, conservation, barn design, environmental enhancement, mixed-species management, anesthesia procedures, neonatal care, browse programs, and related topics.
If you are interested in presenting, please submit your abstract to giraffe@cmzoo.org by August 15, 2026.
We look forward to the global giraffe community working together to present on progressive and innovative topics. Connect and collaborate with professionals across the field, including field partners, AZA and ZAA institutions, and private owners, as we work together to elevate giraffe care and conservation efforts. Mark your calendars — we hope to see you there!
