GIRAFFE CARE WORKSHOP

Creating a strong community of giraffe professionals, this week-long workshop empowers attendees to continually improve giraffe welfare,  in situ and ex situ.

Lecture material is balanced with roundtable discussions and hands-on activities with CMZoo's herd, like practicing training techniques, watching demonstrations and creating enrichment. Attendees work through various giraffe-specific modules with CMZoo staff, and gain knowledge and experience in the following topics: training, browse programs, hoof care, conservation, teamwork, roadblocks, enrichment and guest/giraffe interactions.

GIRAFFE BEHAVIOR & TRAINING WORKSHOP

Participants must have attended the Giraffe Care Workshop to join this workshop. This 4-day workshop focuses specifically on the science of behavior change, and how trainers can harness the environment to increase desired behaviors. In-depth training concepts learned in this workshop can be applied to improve the lives of giraffe in human care.

GIRAFFE BEHAVIOR WORKSHOP

Would you like to learn cutting edge information on how to better care for giraffe? This  Giraffe Behavior Workshop offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills in a variety of topics with content experts. This collaborative workshop is designed to pair lecture material with hands-on opportunities in giraffe training and behavior, hoof care, environmental enhancements and leadership/problem solving, as well as a brief look into how enclosure design and management practices can stimulate and encourage natural foraging behaviors and reduce undesired behaviorsRegistration Fee includes: 4 full days, refreshments, buffet lunch, and Thursday evening BBQ.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's International Center for the Care and Conservation of GIraffe will be partnering with BIAZA and Behavior Works for their 2nd annual workshop.

GIRAFFE PRIVATE OWNER WORKSHOP

Led by worldwide experts in nutrition, reproduction, hoof care and anesthesia, this 2 ½-day workshop offers an opportunity for private owners to network and collaborate with each other, under the expert guidance of AZA-accredited leadership, to advance giraffe welfare and conservation.
