    Hi Jennifer,

Great question!  We will sometimes use access to other giraffe as a reinforcer for some situations- like shifting.  We also have other confident giraffe show the less confident animals how to go through the chute, or train alongside them.

One of our younger calves really liked smelly things, so we trained her with stinky objects!  Shoes, hoof trimming gloves, etc.

    Hi all!

I was wondering what type of secondary reinforcement your giraffe enjoy? One of the giraffe in our herd is not motivated by food options so I'm looking for other ways to reinforce her. Unfortunately she isn't a tactile kind of girl and is indifferent towards enrichment devices. We have a handful that enjoy tactile, and another handful that enjoy enrichment but I was curious what your giraffe find reinforcing outside of the typical primary reinforcers!

    Thank you!
